How do you tell the story of fifty years of history? By talking to the people who made it. A lot has changed over fifty years at BC's colleges, teaching universities and institutes. In 1970, BC's post secondary system didn't exist. Institutions were isolated across the province, and disconnected from each other. Over the years, faculty and staff worked together to champion affordable, accessible education for students and more connection between institutions. You can see the results of their advocacy in BC's transfer system, tuition-free Adult Basic Education and English Language Learning today. Key to their successes was the ability to unionize, and the legacy of progress they left for the faculty and staff working in their unions at colleges, universities, and institutes across the province. Learning from our past. Celebrating our successes.
