Celebrating 50 years!

The Federation of Post-Secondary Educators of BC began fifty years ago. Six college faculty associations came together to form the College Faculties Federation in order to work together to improve post-secondary education in BC. BC faculty weren't able to unionize in 1970, and institutions were isolated, making it difficult for students to continue their education. Over the next 5 decades, the organization grew and changed due to private sector members and the decision to make some colleges teaching universities. Now, the Federation represents 10,000 faculty and staff working in BC’s public universities, colleges, institutes and private institutions.
