September 1991
Building off of the "Profile for the 90s" campaign that had been endorsed at the 1990 AGM, CIEA partnered with the CFS and CUFA BC in a province-wide campaign to raise post-secondary education as an election issue. 250,000 copies of a pamphlet entitled, "Today's Education: An Advanced Education and Training Agenda for British Columbia" were distributed.
Mike Harcourt's NDP won 51 seats; Gordon Wilson's Liberals, 17; and Rita Johnston's Social Credit, 7. Eight CIEA members were elected: Anne Edwards (East Kootenay), Dale Lovick and Allan Warnke (Malaspina), Jackie Pement and Paul Ramsey (CNC), Penny Priddy (Douglas), and Gordon Wilson (Capilano, and Liberal Party leader)
